Archives of Veterinary Medicine invites expressions of interest from established and internationally active researchers who wish to serve as Associate Editors and contribute to the strategic development and international visibility of the journal.

As a peer-reviewed Diamond Open Access journal published by the Scientific Veterinary Institute “Novi Sad”, Archives of Veterinary Medicine is committed to maintaining high scientific standards, editorial independence, methodological rigor, and international diversity within its editorial structure. The Associate Editor position represents a key operational role in safeguarding the quality and integrity of the peer-review process.

Role and Responsibilities

Associate Editors are expected to:

Manage and oversee the peer-review process within their area of expertise;

Identify and appoint qualified, independent reviewers;

Provide informed editorial recommendations based on reviewers’ reports;

Ensure compliance with ethical standards and editorial policies;

Support the journal’s scientific development and thematic direction;

Contribute to strengthening the journal’s international academic profile.

Applications from researchers outside Serbia are especially encouraged in order to further strengthen the journal’s international scope and editorial diversity.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should:

Hold a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline;

Demonstrate a strong publication record in internationally indexed journals (Scopus and/or Web of Science);

Have documented experience in peer review or editorial activities;

Show evidence of international collaboration;

Maintain an active and visible researcher profile (e.g., Scopus Author ID, ORCID).

Appointment and Term

Applications will be evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial leadership team. Final appointment is subject to approval by the Scientific Council of the Scientific Veterinary Institute “Novi Sad”, in accordance with the journal’s governance structure.

Associate Editors are appointed for a term of two (2) years. The appointment may be renewed based on performance, active contribution to the peer-review process, and the strategic needs of the journal.

The journal reserves the right to appoint Associate Editors based on editorial requirements, scientific excellence, and the overall balance of expertise and geographical representation.

Academic Service and Diamond Open Access Commitment

The Associate Editor position is voluntary and based on academic service. It offers an opportunity to actively contribute to maintaining scientific quality, promoting editorial integrity, and strengthening the international visibility of a Diamond Open Access journal.

Operating under a non-commercial, non-profit publishing model, the journal ensures that authors are not charged publication fees and that readers have unrestricted access to scientific content. We welcome researchers committed to advancing rigorous, transparent, and globally accessible scholarly communication.
