Primary Research Interests:

  • Optimization of analytical methods for the determination of toxic elements in food and feed.
  • Analysis of the distribution of contaminants in food, feed and environment (water, sediment, and biota).

Main Daily and Research Activities:

  • Determination food quality and safety parameters through standard laboratory methods and instrumental techniques (Rapid N Cube instruments using the Dumas method, emission flame photometry, atomic absorption spectometry, inductively coupled plasma with mass spectrometry, direct potentiometry, conductometry), and other classic analytical techniques, such as volumetric and gravimetric analyses.
  • Development of new sample preparation methods for fast and more accurate determination of food and feed contaminants.
